Shahe | Student Researcher
I'm a Computer Science master's student currently under the supervision of Dr. Abdhelak Bentaleb. My current research focuses on immersive volumetric low-latency multimedia streaming. While my research specializes in multimedia networks, I often find myself tinkering with a number of emerging technologies within fields of interest such as embedded systems and Machine Learning / AI.
Key Projects
V3CTK-metric & VirtualPCCamera
A metric collection system for volumetric media. It is used to measure the effect of compression on the perceived quality of immersive 3D media, specifically PointCloud files. It collects both 2D and 3D objective metrics in order to analyze different quality combination.
Syncbit
A decentralized watch-party application that enables synchronized Video-on-Demand and streaming, optimized for low-bandwidth scenarios.
Pointcloud Preprocessing Platform
An online platform to investigate how normalization, resampling and MLS smoothing of pointcloud geometry affects rate-distortion across different codecs (Draco, G-PCC).
It has a first-principles implementation of normalization, MLS smoothing and resampling of the points (using either voxels or poisson)
Phishing Detector
A lightweight tool that flags suspicious emails by checking links, sender patterns, and message content for common phishing signals. Made for JACHacks hackathon and won best AI project for Cybersecurity
Shell-in-C
A custom shell written entirely in C. It is able to run commands, run a script file with a shebang, and handle input/output redirects. More features to come!
Homeserver
A server ran from a laptop in my basement. It is equiped with a dns filtering system to block ads, a content hub with all my dvd collection able to stream on any device on the same network and soon to be implemented a locally hosted llm assistant.
